ALBANY – Youth basketball players will have a chance to win tickets to the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament at the MVP Arena.

Albany County and MVP Health Care are sponsoring a contest for ballers in third through eighth grade who participate in any school, church, community team or basketball clinic to try and get tickets.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Siena College are hosting the NCAA First and Second Rounds of the Men’s Basketball Tournament scheduled for March 17 and 19 at the arena. The arena was previously supposed to host the tournament in 2020 but saw the games canceled during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic.

When the March Madness tickets went on sale last month, they very quickly were gobbled up with few tickets left.

To enter the contest, students must submit a creative one-minute video asking answering one of four questions on the entry form, and    parents/guardians upload the video to YouTube, Facebook or Instagram. A parent or guardian must then fill out the official entry form on the student’s behalf.

All entry forms and videos are due by Tuesday, January 31. Winners will be notified by Wednesday, March 1.
