Adam Duvall being pursued by Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are in pursuit of free-agent outfielder Adam Duvall.

Fantasy Impact

As Cotillo notes, a resolution on Duvall’s free agency is expected to come soon whether it’s with the Red Sox or elsewhere. The veteran has hit for significant power throughout his big-league tenure, launching 163 home runs with a career .235 isolated power across 830 games. Duvall spent the 2022 season with the Atlanta Braves, swatting 12 long balls across 86 contests but also hit 38 homers between the Braves and Miami Marlins in the 2021 campaign.

Connor Seabold traded to Rockies

The Boston Red Sox have traded pitcher Connor Seabold to the Colorado Rockies.

Fantasy Impact

Seabold goes to the Rockies in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The right-hander has been roughed up to the tune of a 10.55 ERA across six big-league starts in his career, posting an 11.29 mark across five starts in 2022. The 26-year-old fared better at Triple-A last season, working to a 3.32 ERA across 19 starts.

Aroldis Chapman being considered by Marlins

The Miami Marlins are one of a few teams considering left-handed reliever Aroldis Chapman.

Fantasy Impact

As a South Florida resident, it makes sense the Marlins would pursue the hard-throwing free agent. Once one of the game’s most feared relievers, Chapman is coming off a career-worst season as he worked to a 4.46 ERA and disastrous 17.5% BB% with the Yankees in 2022, eventually being sent home before the postseason for missing a workout. Chapman also averaged a career-low 97.5 mph on his four-seam fastball last season as he looks to re-establish himself with a new club for the 2023 campaign.

Brian Anderson in agreement with the Brewers

Free-agent infielder/outfielder Brian Anderson in agreement with Brewers.

Fantasy Impact

Anderson was non-tendered by the Marlins back in November. After showing upside early in his career, Anderson is coming off a season where he hit .222 at the plate. It was pretty clear a change of scenery was needed. Anderson will look to compete for playing time likely both in the infield and outfield.
