UofL field hockey preparing for NCAA Tournament

The University of Louisville field hockey team is gearing up for the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals (12-7) learned on Sunday that they received an at-large bid to the tournament. “They’ve been working their tails off all season,” said UofL head coach Justine Sowry. “And I’m really happy for them that they’re going to get an opportunity to go to the NCAA Tournament.”The Cards will face Penn State (15-3) in the first round on Friday at 2:30 p.m. EST in Ann Arbor, MichiganLouisville beat Penn State 2-1 in the regular season back on Aug. 28.”We didn’t do so well in the ACC, but we did very well at the beginning of the year against some quality Big Ten opponents,” said Sowry. “We played Michigan. We beat Michigan. We played Penn State. We beat Penn State. And so that really positioned us well to one, make the tournament, but two, we’re ready. We’re ready for this moment.”This is UofL’s fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
