NBA free agency 2023 is here beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern on Friday, as teams now negotiate deals with free agents during the moratorium. Those players cannot officially sign until 12:01 p.m. on Thursday, when the new league year starts. Trades can also become official at that time.
The NBA’s 2023-24 salary cap is expected to sit at $136 million (up from $123.6 million last year) with the luxury tax line at $165 million (up from $150.3 million.)
It’s a decent free agent class, with top names on the market as of Friday including Kyrie Irving, Khris Middleton, Fred VanVleet, Draymond Green, Brook Lopez, Bruce Brown, Austin Reaves (restricted) and Cameron Johnson (restricted).
