MLB prop bets June 17: Bet on Juan Soto, Mookie

[ad_1]

We’re highlighting two of MLB’s brightest stars in Saturday’s MLB prop bets.

The pregame narrative: Mookie Betts is the frontman for a fantastic Dodgers offence and is often in an excellent position to cross the plate. We’re looking for Betts to score tonight alongside Juan Soto, who has slowed a bit recently but is having a great year.

Check out our two picks and the betting odds in our best MLB prop bets for June 17.

MLB prop bets

Best Bet : Betts over 0.5 runs (-129)

The bulk of the attention on the NL MVP race has gone to Ronaldo Acuna Jr., but Betts is steadily having a productive enough season to stay in the conversation.

As the leadoff man for the highest-scoring team in the NL (Dodgers, 5.5 runs/game), the price of his run prop isn’t flying under the radar quite like his 11-to-1 MVP odds are. But we still think he’s worth it tonight.

Betts is on a nice 15-game tear that started at the tail-end of last month. Since May 30, he’s posted a .339/.419/.631 slash line, scoring 14 times and notching nine multi-base performances.

On the season, Betts has crossed the plate in 42 of 67 games (62.7%). The implied probability of his -129 odds is 56.3%, so we’re picking up on some value here.

And let’s not forget about how he’s fared against tonight’s opposing starter, Alex Wood.

Betts has obtained nine hits, two walks and a 1.572 OPS against the San Fran lefty in 24 plate appearances. Count on the speedy outfielder to get on base and come around tonight.

Key stat: Betts has scored a run in 22 of his past 29 games (75.9%).

Quick pick

Soto over 0.5 runs (-112) : Like Betts, Soto has a delectable pitching matchup tonight that we want in on.

Soto will face Rays right-hander Zac Eflin, formerly a combatant of the outfielder when both players were situated in the NL East. In 28 plate appearances against Eflin, Soto has reached base 16 times (.571 OBP) and notched four extra-base hits.

Since moving back to the No. 2 spot in the Padres’ lineup, Soto has scored a run in five of eight games.
