  • UIW got out to a 16-0 lead, but fell behind 17-16 at the break. After NDSU built it to a 24-16 advantage, the Cardinals came back for a 32-27 advantage w/ under 10’ to go. With roughly 8’ left, the Bison went on top for good on a 31y TD run from Kobe Johnson. NDSU was out-gained on the day, 539-333, as they threw for a mere FIVE yards, but they dominated the TO margin, 4-0. Dawson Weber had both Bison picks, while Griffin Crosa helped the cause w/ a career-long 47y FG in the win.

SDSU 39-18

  • SDSU shut down the vaunted running game of Montana State to make its 2nd-ever FCS Title Game, 39-18. The Bobcats came in as the top running team in the country, averaging 332ypg on the ground and piling up 6.8y per carry. They finished this one w/ 52y on 34c (1.5ypc). The Jacks, however, ran it 38x for 281y (7.4ypc), and piled up a 473-281 lead in total yardage, despite six fewer offensive plays. Neither team committed a TO in the frigid conditions. SDSU piled up four sacks, while their QB stayed clean, and the Jacks scored on all three of their red zone trips.
