The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend promises an exciting and unique experience for basketball fans, set to unfold from Friday, February 14th to Sunday, February 16th in Oakland and San Francisco. This year’s festivities introduce a brand-new tournament-style format for the All-Star Game, bringing a fresh competitive edge to the event.

Rising Stars (Friday, 9 p.m. ET)
The Rising Stars Challenge brings together the NBA’s top rookies, second-year players, and standout talents from the G League for an exciting three-game tournament. Each team will be coached by NBA legends, and the format has been revamped to make things even more thrilling.
Tournament Format:
- The 28 players are divided into four teams, with the winners of each semifinal game being the first to score 40 points.
- The title game will be won by the first team to reach 25 points.
Rosters:
- Notable rookies like Victor Wembanyama, Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson, and others were initially on the rosters but have been replaced due to All-Star Game participation or injury. New players include Anthony Black, Toumani Camara, and Brandin Podziemski.
Skills Challenge (Saturday, 8 p.m. ET)
The Skills Challenge will showcase four two-man teams competing in traditional skills tests like dribbling, passing, and shooting. It promises plenty of exciting moments as top players demonstrate their versatility.

The highlight of All-Star Weekend is the NBA All-Star Game, now featuring a new tournament-style format. The 74th edition of the game will include 24 stars divided into three teams, with each game being played until the first team reaches 40 points.
Format:
- The All-Star Game will consist of three games, with the teams selected through a draft by NBA legends Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith.
- The winner of Friday’s Rising Stars Championship will be the fourth team in the tournament.
- Players will compete for prize money:
- $125,000 for the winners
- $50,000 for second place
- $25,000 for third and fourth places
